Eclipse
So, I was reading some stuff about the upcoming eclipse. Somewhere on the Earth every 18 months or so is a total eclipse. However, from any single given spot, a total solar eclipse is only observable once in every 375 years. The eclipse will cross through 14 states, and the totality will be visible to more than 12 million people without ever leaving their homes. Also, this upcoming total eclipse will be the first anywhere in the U.S. since 1979, and the first since 1918 to be visible from coast to coast. Even more amazing, it will be the first solar eclipse to be seen only on American soil since 1776 -- thus the "great American eclipse" title.

Re: Eclipse
So let's bet how many people out of those millions are stupid enough to burn out their eyes or cell phone lenses on this event. I'm hoping at least 50%.

Indeed. Nearest industrial supply house will have welders glass. Or make a pinhole camera out of a shoe box.

Re: Eclipse
Humans are such shit that a lot of advertised special glasses that are being sold for this event are not up to standard for eye protection. So, as always, humans are trying to make money on selling defective shit to humans ready to buy it. Humans are just ignorant trash and hopefully the Sun will explode with the eclipse and we can all go back to dust where we belong. OK, maybe not everybody is a total waste, but, there is no argument, humans as a species are just trash shit.

Re: Eclipse
I got an email from Amazon today saying they were refunding my eclipse glasses purchase as they could not validate them as authentic. News articles now saying Amazon is pulling quite a few ads for fake eclipse glasses.
Bummer.

Re: Eclipse
There is a total solar eclipse going on right now! Go outside and stare directly at the Sun and eventually it will completely disappear! An everyday total solar eclipse, brought to you by, Dipshits...When you are dumb as shit and you have no clue what is going on around you, Dipshits, for America.

Re: Eclipse
I remember back in the 90s we had an eclipse here in Columbus ohio we all stood outside and watched it thru welding glass the maintenance guys had brought out during break
Re: Eclipse
Well they might want to go outside . . .Glauri wrote:visible to more than 12 million people without ever leaving their homes.
Re: Eclipse
It rained! Borked the whole event. Got a few glimpses between clouds. At 93% it was like early twilight. Never did get dark.
Re: Eclipse
Nice pic! We did not even see twilight up here... was like 20% or so. We had an eclipse party on the dock anyway

Re: Eclipse
Only 75% here...never really got dark. However, we are in the path of the 100% total eclipse in 2024~
