Very well written Q. Reading that first chapter, I got the feeling that it was very thought out. I was very disappointed at the end that the story didn't continue however, and am looking forward to the next installment. You did a great job making me feel the characters and their feelings, while not going overboard.

Yeah, sorry guys. I chose that time frame because I knew I was having a busy week. Had to put off the final editing because there's an opening at work for a promotion (supervisor of my current job) and management indicated to us that we should put in for it if interested because they didn't expect many outside people to apply for it.
It's about 10k more per year than I currently make and deadline for submitting application package (package was about 14 pages long) was today, so I've been working hard on it most of this week. I also ran into a little problem with it because the "apply online" button for this job on the usajobs website directs you to a "page cannot be displayed" url.
So I finished it up and hand-walked my package into Human Resources this morning and personally gave it to the ranking HR officer for the position. Wish me luck!
Anyway, so that is the reason for the delay and for giving myself such a lengthy timeline for the posting of chapter two.
