Tradeskills guide: More money than Bristlebane, no time?

Post by Jhereg » Fri Oct 25, 2019 12:12 pm

After noticing the better guides on EQtraders that are in their forums are missing(the ones on the site are way outdated, forums were much better) I decided I'll try to make this over a few days.

So, store bought up as high as possible even if expensive. 300-350 works differently as discussed in other threads. Will update as I have time to steal from various guides and cached guides(a lot of this is cached guides by Mikaal Drazzminius on eqtrader's forum).

One trick: if something is commonly sold to, but not bought from, vendors in places like the Guild lobby, leave 1 of it the vendor and come back later. You can also buy the cheapest item on the vendor to make an open slot, sell 1 of it, then come back later. Doesn't work if others are likely to buy there or some of the new full list tradeskill vendors in pok that don't have openings on their lists.

Baking
135 Fish Rolls

143 Filleted Bear
Likely not worth your time for 8 skill points but there just in case

191 Patty Melt
Requires some smithing to make the frying pan

202 Chocolate Bacon
Must scribe Chocolate Bacon Recipe first from frostfell mission

Past here you will need forages like fruit, drops like eggs or fished items as far as I can find. Here's 3 examples:

255 Omelet with Cheese
Needs eggs

335 Misty Thicket Picnic
Needs foraged fruit

415 Broiled Raxil Fish
Needs Raxil Fish fished from Veil of Alaris zones

Brewing
248 Minotaur Hero's Brew
So trivial in cost there's barely any reason not to do it from the start except it takes a lot of fails until you learn the recipe, up to you if you want to do some lower trivials first.

335 Brut Champagne
Needs Champagne Magnum which is a 186 Jewelry combine

Fletching
135 Mounting Board
Fletching is annoying enough, skip the low level grinds and do later if grinding 300->350

215 Rough Darkwood Recurve Bow (hemp)

235 Rough Darkwood Compound Bow (hemp)

255 Rough Shadewood Recurve Bow (Hemp)

268 Rough Shadewood 1-Cam Bow (hemp)

282 Rough Shadewood Compound Bow (hemp)

Past here you need foraged, ground spawns or dropped items, or all 3. If you are a wood elf or Karana worshipper there are some alternatives, check your cultural.

302/322 (trivial might have changed) Oak Treant Laminate Recurve Bowstave
Requires Treant Branches(ground spawn/dropped), Horse Hoof(multiple but search for Hoof not hooves), and Spiderling silk (easy in Field of Bone spiderling caves)

375 Repeating Crossbow
Requires Lumbar Plank, a fairly common drop on mobs and at this moment there's 1000 for 75pp each on a trader, if bought off a vendor that someone sold to its 10pp

Jewelry

45 Silver Practice Veil

88 Electrum Practice Veil

134 Gold Practice Veil

179 Platinum Practice Veil

224 Velium Practice Veil

300 Velium Blue Diamond Bracelet
In theory requires dropped Blue Diamonds but if you have cash you can find them rotting on so many vendors across various zones like guild hall, lobby, pok, tranquility, etc that they are effectively storebought. Not cheap, just easy.

Pottery
36 Unfired Ceramic Linings
If you aren't annoyed by failing to learn recipes for a while, skip this and other steps directly to poison vials below

92 Unfired Runed Worked Potion Vial Set
Chosen since it is stackable to 100, no other reason.

148-196 Various poison Vials

242 Unfired Red Ceramic Band
Requires enchanter created Vial of Cloudy Mana. There are steps between Vials and this like 222 Unfired Opal Encrusted Stein and 231 Unfired White Ceramic Band if you want to save some money but still need an enchanter's help.

282 Unfired Idol (Tunare)
Requires a Tunare Cleric/Druid's help plus an enchanter

302 Unfired Spherical Bottle
For people with no enchanter friends, alts, you can forage/farm Air-Infused Spring Water. Trying to limit listings of farming/foraging but this used to be popular for cheap people.

335 Unfired Faithstone of Decay
Requires an enchanter's help

Smithing
Quick notes
1) if you are thinking about making the 135 trivial Javelins then can just make the subcombinies to skip some of the steps below.
2) http://everquest.fanra.info/wiki/Smithing, but I don't see any of those ore's for under 75pp in the Bazaar atm. If you have them banked cool, otherwise expect to pay a lot if you go that path

43 Medium Quality Metal Rings
Stackable up to 1000, unstackable things will get old real quick in Smithing

95 Banded Belt

122 Embroidering Needle
Doesn't stack but easy to make in pok

135 Runic Steel War Javelins
Stackable to 100 but requires an Enchanter

162 High Quality Hinge
Stacks to 1000, but requires Refined High Quality ore which is limited per server reset

[will continue this later]

I did Aged Sebilisian Marble Bead to max out Brewing. Super cheap for the vendor bought materials. Only time consuming part was collecting the ground spawns.

I did the velium blue diamond bracelet from about 100 to max trophy from the blue diamonds I had been hoarding in my bank. I just sat in Thurgadin and sold the successful combines back to the vendor. You will see a nice return as you get higher in skill.

Brewing:
102 Thubr's Darkened Al
335 Kaladim Constitutional

Requires a ground spawn from North Kaladim. Make a FTP account and pick up like 8 or something like that every five minutes or so in North Kaladim.

Baking: Raxi Fish is where it is at.

Better way to get baking to 300. Baked Etherfish. Fish for the etherfish in Ferrott, the Dream. Fishing is faster than foraging. All other ingredients sold cheaply in pok from Chef near small bank.
