considerations for membership

Postby Camireno » Wed Apr 06, 2005 1:02 pm

Hi to all,
I know some of you in this guild and was referred here by some friends when they found out I would be looking for a guild upon my return from playing in Afghanistan with the U.S. Army.
I basically would like to know what requirements you have in place for prospective members, this would be for myself a lvl 65 Pally and my wife a lvl 65 Cleric (she has her 1.0 epic).
We are interested in a guild that is a bit more experienced in raiding but not anal about it, and would love to join more of a family atmosphere, where people are close and like to group together, not just join for the hits.
I look forward to hearing from you regarding this as I have only 20 days left in country (YAY) and cannot wait to resume normal life.

Godspeed to all,

Da Pallyman

Hi again,
I guess I should have read your nifty application booster page before writing, my wife and I are both fun-loving, enjoy spending time helping friends and progressing thru the game, but have come to a point where we would like a crack at some of the more difficult levels in EQ. Our difficulty will be with the flags, which I know will cause nothing but a rash for you guys, but if upon my return, you find you like us, we would do our very best to catch up in as timely a manner as possible. I like what I have seen regarding your goals as a guild and where you are at in your raiding. Thank you for your consideration, and of course I realize this is ahead of the curve since you cant quite acess me while I am unplayed in Afghanistan..LOL.

Godspeed to all,

Da Pallyman

For the sake of the Recruiting officer, decided to do this the right way. He he, took me 3 tries, but hope this works.

The Basic Info - *Required Info*

-Name : Camireno Shadowbane
-Class : Paladin
-Level : 65 with 108 AA's
-Is this character a main or an alt? : Main

-Do you currently have an Enduring Breath item? Yes
-List which keys and flags you have. : I have bits and pieces for keys/flags mostly. Was badly disrupted when called up for overseas.
-Do you have a clicky buff item? Yes

A Little Bit About Yourself : I have been playing EQ for almost 3 years now, and have always stuck with my pally, I think that is the type of person I am. I love to help people, make up epic hits at the last moment, go on 'mercy runs' ,(helping people get critically lost characters) am always up for helping when a guild wipes badly in a zone and generally love to play most because of the great people you can meet. I have taken a long time to make this character because am not just about getting the uber loot and such, many time I can be found in noobie land helping the kiddos and handing out gear to them.
-What are a few things you enjoy most about your class? : I love playing a Paladin because of what that character historically is: a knight devoted to the pursuit of holiness and righteousness, doing whatever is necessary to help those in need.
-What are a few things you enjoy most about playing EQ? I love most of all meeting new people. The reason I am interested in your guild is because I want to see more of the game than I have thus far. Raids are alot of fun if properly lead and I am more than ready for that.
-Give us an example of what you normally do when you play right now: Make up a group and go to work. I love to meet new people but also miss the advantage of being guilded and having people you know and trust to play with.
-What does a typical evening of playing EQ look like: Convincing people to come with me to HOH basement so we can butcher undead...hehe. Also do alot of BOT (just now got the expansions while overseas but of course have not been able to see what they are like yet)
-Tell us some of your short and long term goals for your character.: I want to see the higher levels in the game, complete my epic, (now that the 2.0 epic has made me drool) meet new people, have the family atmosphere of people being happy to see you when you log on and needing your help.
-When do you normally play EQ? will be most anytime days (EST) and maybe 3 evenings a week.
-Please list your alts on Vazaelle (just names).: No alts

-Please tell us which other guilds you have been a part of and why you chose to leave: I am currently with Order of the Divine Dragon (mostly to help their count) but hear they are in the process of dying now. I want to see a guild where there is a planned strategy for progression and I can make a difference.
-If you are still a member in another guild we want to know that too and why.: I am currently tagged, but only due to the fact that I am 13000 miles away from my account.
Your Experience with CN

-Do you know any current members of CN? Have you ever raided or hunted with us? Please give specific names and events if you can remember: I have not specifically raided with CN, but have played with quite a few of your members on many different occasions. To name a few, Amethyest, Silly, Zatrekan (once upon a time)
-Why are you applying to CN? Is there a specific reason you chose to apply to our guild? : I asked close friends to do some research regarding different guilds. My main reasons for choosing CN is because of where you are at with your raiding (a level I can catch up to with minimal help), the fact that you have some friend I hold in high regard in your midst, the fact that you do raid but dont expect people to live just around EQ. You basically seem like a guild that has a close family atmosphere and at the same time is definitely going places.
-Tell us what your goals are for applying... what do you hope to get out of the guild? I want to see new places and reach new heights in the game. Improving my abilities as a Paladin and being part of a family that can take some names!
Is there anything about how you play EQ now that you hope will change once you are guilded? I am always learning as I go. My outlook is to be the best Paladin I can be regardless of gear or weapons, to play the cleanest and be appreciated for those skills. I always love helping people and will strive to continue with that as one of my favorite things about the game.

Hehe, I'm kind of on hiatus from EQ Camireno, but can tell you your application looks spiffy. Feel free to get some enjoyment out of the boards while you're still afk. Is your wife over seas with you as well? If not, get her to pop in and say hello and I'm sure the gang would be happy to get to know her prior to your return as well (and grab a channel invite so she can hook up with them in game) - and then she can tell you which ones of us to watch out for :)

Very nice application, Camireno. Thank for your interest in CN. We'll go ahead and get your app started right away. We have a system to where current CN members vote on apps as they get to know them in our apps channel. I'll create you a thread, but you likely won't get any votes until you're back in the game. So take care of yourself over there, be as safe as you can, and give us a yell for the apps channel info whenever you get back in the game. At that point you can immediately join us on all raids and events. We're glad that you apped. We'll be expecting you and are looking forward to meeting you.
:)

WOW! Long time no see, Cami, but HUGS to you! 20 days huh? I'll be counting down ;)

Application looks awesome, and from what you say you're looking for compared to my thoughts on the guild...I think you'll fit right in here! Also just fyi, we got lots of couples and family members that play together in guild. I always thought that was pretty cool, makes for a tight knit community of people.

Can't wait to meet your wife (or do I already know her? WTB name pls!) as I love the cleric apps! hehehe :D

Hope to see you soon!!!

thank you all for the very nice welcome. Nice to see you still kicking as well Silly! I remember a number of times grouping together and look forward to more. My better half's name is Castaspellonya, a very cool cleric type and also very much into helping people out. She is currently also tagged with Order of the Divine Dragon, but has been very frustrated as they are not into raiding and when they do, it is a halfhearted attempt. She wants to meet new people and also have people to group with. She is kinda shy, so is not much into just going LFG and crossing fingers. Send her a tell people, she is a sweetheart! For my part, I look forward to getting back stateside and getting caught up with you all and getting to know those I dont know as well.

Godspeed to all,

Da Pallyman

In that case, I have a few other paladins to introduce you to. :D I have a feeling you'll fit right in.

By the way, had trouble reading the policies of the guild due to very very bad internet over here. Wanted to let you officers know I have now read it completely and agree with it whole-heartedly. It is refreshing to see the positive guild atmosphere you obviously work hard to encourage.

BTW Galarina, what exactly do you mean when you say you will 'create me a thread'? or would that be what this is? Not trying to be moronic, just curious...hehe.

:D We cherish the value of the imput of our members and try to decide on things as a guild. Even such things as who should join the guild and who shouldn't. So, therefore, we take each application and make a thread where people can go to vote "Yes, they'd be a good fit for CN" or "Not at this time" type of a thing.

Sounds a bit harsh, but it is nice to know that members have just as much of a say to what happens in CN as the leadership. It is one of the things I love best about this guild actually.

2 heads are better than one and 100 are better than 2 I guess

Huzzah! We paladins may be on the endangered species list, but they haven't wiped us out entirely yet! Great application, noble Camireno. I can't tell you how good it is to see good qualities shining through even an application. I have no doubt it will be even more of a pleasure adventuring with you in Norrath. /salute
