Info on new drops

Postby Bolwyn » Thu Oct 04, 2007 7:30 am

Here's a post ripped off from Sony boards (and edited a little) suggesting level combos for new drops. Still some speculation, but it should give an idea of what to save if you are making the new stuff or planning on skilling up with it. Listed from low to high.

Chain and Plate
Tin Ore --
Iron Ore --
Silvril Ore --
Thalium Ore-- Alkaline Loam -- Simple cultural items
Iridium Ore--
Fulginate Ore-- Malleable Loam -- Ornate cultural items
Rubicite Ore--
Indium Ore--
Rhenium Ore-- Bonded Loam -- Intricate cultural items
Tungsten Ore--
Cobalt Ore-- Soluble Loam -- Elaborate cultural items
Titanium Ore-- Alkalai Loam -- Exalted Symbols
Tantalum Ore-- Porous Loam -- Sublime Symbols/Elegant cultural armor

The ore is used in creating a Template. This template is then combined with Loam and various other storebought stuff to create the armor. Same with silk/spinneret fluid and leather/marrow.

Leather
Ruined Animal Pelt--
Mangled Animal Pelt--
Tattered Animal Pelt--
Sullied Animal Pelt-- Dusty Marrow -- Makes Simple cultural items
Crude Animal Pelt--
Rough Animal Pelt-- Damp Marrow -- makes Ornate cultural items
Flawed Animal Pelt--
Pristine Animal Pelt--
Fine Animal Pelt-- Hemic Marrow -- makes Intricate cultural items
Excellent Animal Pelt--
Superb Animal Pelt-- Excellent Marrow -- makes Elaborate cultural items
Flawless Animal Pelt-- Superb Marrow -- Exalted Symbols
Exquisite Animal Pelt-- Exquisite Marrow-- Sublime Symbols/Elegant cultural armor

The silk needs 2 silks per swatch that the former recipe needed (thats why they drop so much more). There is no swatch subcombine.
I.E. 6 silks for the chest piece.

Silk
Coarse Silk
Rough Silk
Tacky Silk
Sullied Silk-- Sullied Spinneret Fluid -- Simple cutural
Thick Silk
Crude Silk-- Crude Spinneret Fluid -- Ornate cultural
Natural Silk
Pristine Silk
Fine Silk-- Fine Spinneret Fluid -- Intricate Cultural
Excellent Silk
Superb Silk-- Superb Spinneret Fluid -- Elaborate cultural
Flawless Silk-- Flawless Spinneret Fluid -- Exalted Symbols
Exquisite Silk-- Exquisite Spinneret Fluid -- Sublime Symbols/Elegant cultural armor

Trivial ranges for the different levels of templates:

20-35
40-55
66-80
90-106
124-140
158-175
196-215
234-255
272-295
310-335
348-375
386-410
424-450

I ran through a bunch of TBS missions this past weekend for some faction. I have a few of the Cobalt and tungsten drops, Spineret fluids, hides Marrow and a lot of the silks. They are thorughly spread out amongst my boxes and I think I loaded some up and Trab too. If I get some time to put the stuff together I will jam it into the guild bank for you.

Trab may have sold the stuff in his bags already as I forgot to tell him I was keeping it (SURPRISE!)

I saw it in there, basically because I tried to loot something and the bags were full, this presents a dilema condiering his bank is full also. I moved a few things out for the shared bank bags onto the mule for that account (the Pally fyi Bobb). At some point I will go through and clear out the old equipment and stuff.

I do not think I would trust anything made from Thallium considering how toxic it is. Rhenium is one of the most expensive metals so really it should be at the top, Tungsten has a higher mp and Iridium is more dense, but really Sony putting cobalt at the top is weak :!:

All the drops I've gotten on raids are in the bank and marked public for now. I've also started slowly my personal collection from the little xp I do also.

I am pretty sure I am reading it wrong, but the only thing I see listed for Leather is marrow. Is that right? No skins or scales or anything like that?

And thanks for posting the list so I know what I need to hold onto in my limited bag space buddy.

Oaklen,

I'm a tradeskill idiot, so take this with a grain of salt, but I believe the leather armor takes animal pelts (specifically the new ones that have been dropping). Next to the type of marrow Bolwyn listed is also an adjective (i.e. flawed, pristine, superb) which distinguishes one type of pelt from another.

There's been talk about a turn in person, so if you have old stuff like Metallic Drake Scales or Shissar scales you might be able to convert them into the new ones and use/sell them or something.

The turn in person is Caerlyna (the bag token lady) but she converts items that were made from drake scales/ glossy hides etc (swatches and bars/sheets) not the raw items. The raw materials are now useless in most cases.

I corrected my list Oaklen. The first descriptor is the name of the animal pelt, I just didn't put the "animal pelt" part in. That's what I get for copy-n-pasting...

Just some extra info to help keep the bag space a little less full...

These are the only loam/marrow/spinneret fluid that currently have a use:

Alkaline, Malleable, Bonded and Soluble Loam
Dusty, Dam, Hemic and Excellent Marrow
Sullied, Fine, Crude and Superb Spinneret Fluid

According to Ngreth (tradeskill Dev) the rest may have a use in the future, but nothing anytime soon.

Also, here are the trivial ranges for the 11 levels of templates for skilling up:

20-35
40-55
66-80
90-106
124-140
158-175
196-215
234-255
272-295
310-335
348-375

I'm saving everything. I have a empty mule just for this stuff so I have plenty of room. If you don't wanna guild bank it, give it to me and I'll store it.
