Eh? What?!? My mind doesn't work like it used to, y'know! ;pSecksiee wrote:You silly man.. that was me.. /sigh. guess the old age kickin in again eh low-en-dar?Well - there are a ton of us on Unrest, as Saphi mentioned.
Jaffod: I've actually had a nice mix of both types of cards over the years and have never personally run into any major issues. I would recommend maybe trying various drivers when you have the time.
/HUGS, Thoraz! Hope you are well

My nVIDIA Ti4200 ran EQ2 pretty poorly. I think I had to set it to the second lowest quality.
My ATI AIW 9800Pro ran EQ2 alright. I think Balanced was tolerable.
My nVIDIA 7900GT runs EQ2 in Extreme Quality respectably well
Personally, I've never had more issues with one type of card over the other. ATI's drivers are often.. Less than stellar, and I had to reinstall them on a semi-regular basis.

Yes I am well. Sorry, I had not checked back. hehe
The company I was working for got sold to another company and the new company wanted me to stay for 60 days after the sale (which took 4 months) and I now have 27 days left to decide what to do next.
The owners of the new co. want me to stay, but I am not so sure.
I am thinking I should finally draft up a resume and post it on the world job banks and see where the winds take me this time. hehe.
See if anyone has an interesting job for me.
So what do ex-presidents do after they are no longer president and ceo?
haha. I am not sure, but I am going to find out.
At least I am still working after the sale.
Take care.

Anyone still playing EQ2? (Most of ya'll won't recognize me since I'm from the Azerothian side of things). I've been messing about on Unrest with the Trial of the Isle and having a lot of fun with a Fury named Iunnrais. Go figure, my oldest WoW character is a druid of the same name. I also reloaded my old EQ cd to see what had changed since I last played (that was when Kunark was released) but I think that I like EQ2 a bit better.

Re: EQ2
Ok, first of all, I think I deserve a lot of credit for actually remembering my user name and password here.
Second, just wanted to say Hi to anyone in CN who might remember me. It's been several years since I've actually played EQ1, but I had a 67 Pally (Eldiroth), and a 67 Chanter (Cendyan) when I last played. I pretty much left EQ for WoW when it launched, and started CN in WoW with a few others. I played WoW for about 2 years until I just couldn't stand the horrible community any longer. It was a decent game, but wow, what a cesspool of humanity that was.
Then I went to EQ2, where I've been playing on and off for a couple years (mostly on). There I am now an officer in Order of the Open Hand. It's kind of funny, but for those who may remember, CN absorbed the remants of Order of the Open Hand in EQ1 years ago. Well, the reverse happened in EQ2, and there are many former CN/EQ1ers in the guild. To throw out some names: Roladena, Teory, Rocwen, Loendar, Argak, Ryanah, etc. There are many others, but those are the most active former CNers.
I realize there are probably less than 10 of you who remember me and/or anyone else I listed. But CN was my home in EQ1, and EQ1 was my first MMO. I am personally of the opinion that EQ2 is the best MMO on the market right now, but the fun I had in EQ1 has not been matched yet, in any game (and I've tried lots)!
At various points, I've kicked around the idea of trying to make an EQ1 comeback, but I just can't. The game has changed so much and I have forgotten how to play completely. However, I might poke my head in sometime soon just to say hi and look around a bit. I have Station Access, primarily for the extra EQ2 character slots, so I'd just have to install and log in.
Really, though, I might be getting a bit burned out on MMOs in general. I have a hard time finding one that holds my interest for very long any more. I'm beta testing Age of Conan right now, and it's a beautiful game, but I'm not sure I want to go there. Parts of the community remind me a lot of WoW, sadly. But again, my EQ1 gaming days still were the best gaming days of my life, hands down.
So anyway, just saying hi, really. And if you see me log in in the next few days, it's not to stay, it's probably just to look around a little bit.

Re: EQ2
I remember you from both EQ and WoW
. I had wondered where you had ended up.
I purchased the most recent EQ2 pack (rise of kunark ?) a while ago but have yet to get around to opening the thing up. I would agree with your assesment of MMO's. I think we have much fondness for the firt one we enjoyed, which for many of us was EQ1. WoW is a bunch of easy fun but yeah it scores real high on the asshat-o-meter at times.

But if I can drag Jaffod over to the dark side... /snicker...
