Blacksmithing

Postby Goofydoofy » Sun Aug 28, 2005 11:05 am

I am looking to take my Blacksmithing from 186 to 220+. I am looking for input on what would be the "fastest" way to do that. I have chosen "Expert's Leatherfoot Gloves" to 192 and then "Expert's Leatherfoot Greaves" to 222. This is Cultural DoN stuff and I already have the Expert's book. Everything is vendor purchased in Rivervale basically except for the Drops of Mercury which I will have to farm.

Any comments or suggestions are welcome. I'll wait about a week before I begin incase somebody has a better idea for me.

That looks like a good one. I am supposed to get the Velium enchanted and not smith a spell with each combine, right?

No, with the enchanted velium bits you actually combine a copy of the spell with the velium for each combine. Another option to consider is Shadowscream armor. It's a very easy combine but requires quite a lot of farming since you require two no drop items. Not difficult to get but time consuming. The advantage is you can use shadowscream to go well past 250 if you like.

If anyone does want to use the Shadowscream armor to skill up, let me know. I've got a quest item (tradeable) that lets you bypass part of the initial quest on the way to getting the luclinite hammer and special anvil. It may save you an hour or two anyhow.

I dont know if you allready passed 222 up Goofy, but I did the Velium bits not long ago. Was costing me a but load to buy the velium, then I got wind of the Tizmak caves in GD...Well, you can basically clear caves non-stop till you fill all your bags with velium weapons (which if you AE stuff should take like a whole 30 minutes), then you can smelt those down and make the velium pieces (cant remember the recipe, but its on EQ traders, I'm lazy heh). So you get free velium, and only really have to buy the Enchant Velium spell (you have to buy spell, chanter enchanted bars dont work), and the tempr, which makes for like 15pp thrown away per attempt, which aint bad at all. That will get you to 222.
