Well I ran the patcher and got the same Unhandled Exception error that Atzanik posted about back on June 23rd 2010. Each individual folder(CNHouse, CNRaid, CNSeeds, etc) were added to my Sony EQ Audio Triggers folder, but they are all "empty"

My OS is Windows XP

Im about to remove this program completely. I'll wait incase you have something to add. Thanks

That's quite old (should be .34). Removing and re-installing it is probably the best idea.

OK, so I can get the patcher to run, but it never finds EQ. I have a user.config, but it doesn't reference location at all in it, just this:
<configuration>
<userSettings>
<AudioTriggers.My.MySettings>
<setting name="RememberSelection" serializeAs="String">
<value>False</value>
</setting>
</AudioTriggers.My.MySettings>
</userSettings>
</configuration>

When I started the app the second time, I got this error:

************** Exception Text **************
System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'C:\Program Files\Audio Triggers\' is denied.
at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath)
at System.IO.Directory.InternalCreateDirectory(String fullPath, String path, DirectorySecurity dirSecurity)
at System.IO.Directory.CreateDirectory(String path, DirectorySecurity directorySecurity)
at AudioTriggersShared.Logger..cctor()

Since it's a .Net app, I don't have the option of running as admin, and the installer seems to be hard coded. I saw mention of a separate download location for win7 users, but not a location.

.ini files in /Program Files/ is off limits to applications in both Vista and Win7. In Vista it looked (from the application's perspective anyway) like everything worked, but it was all virtualized. I've never really looked at Win7's behaviour with it, but it looks like it just refuses permission, which I take as an improvement.

Where do you have EverQuest stored?

Everquest is installed to e:\sozy\eq so the permissions isn't the issue there. It seems like the app itself is trying to load from there given the second error message.

Just grabbed it and checked -- cnveil is there and files inside are current. Could you be looking at an older copy?

Does this work in Win7 64-bit version? I can't seem to get the patcher to run at all.

What happens? Blob of XML when you click the link?

Yeah. You wanna a copy of the blob?

I play EQ from c: Everquest which is likely not where it's supposed to be. Runs fine though, and that's just where I put it when I copied it from what used to be my c: drive to this new c: drive. Is that the issue? If so, any fix that you can think of, keeping in mind of course that I'm old and slow?

No thanks, I think I have it on VHS.

"C:\Everquest" is just fine for a location, and probably better than many. (Certainly better than \Program Files\ -- at least until SOE moves away from .ini files, or moves them elsewhere. Neither of which seems entirely likely.)

Try the "Install" button now please -- let me know!

Another attempt, and the blob strikes yet again! lol The original was far better -- at least it had a young Steve McQueen! Would it matter if I'm using the 64 bit version of Explorer or the 32 bit version?

OH WAIT!! Using the compatibility view of IE and it is working -- I think. Gonna log in EQ quickly and see if they are loaded...sec.

SWEET! All good now! Clearly I just needed a bit of hand-holding! Thanks Omm!
