I downloaded "ESCAPE TO NORRATH" today and played it for about 4 hours before I realized how much time had gone by. I really think I'm leaning towards EQ1. WoW was a lot of fun, but I have my fondest memories in EQ - so I'm going to give that the first shot at my attention.

I still have Trubel 56 bard, who still has a good bit of his equipment, and Fenwig, level 65 wizard who is STRIPPED DOWN! He has a robe, pants, his epic staff and a black drum. Some serious old-school gear.

On EQPlayers, Fenny still shows up in CN, but Trubel does not. Does that mean if I log back in Fenny is still a member? Even if I were, I understand you guys have some serious high standards now. If I'm not eligible right away, I'll try to work my way back up. Though, I have to warn you guys, I won't be much for raiding - at least not too often. But I am good for a few laughs every now and then.

Anyway, I will probably start up a newbie just to get back into the swing. I was playing a bard in ETN and I've got the twisting down - but kiting will take some work!

Hope to see you in there.

Fen

/melody does away with that twisting nonsense (I think), plus I know from my time playing a bard in the OT that folks just want you to STFU and play mana song

/melody... I guess I'll need to do some research on that. Sounds like they dumbed down the class eh?

Well it kept me from giving up my bard to keep from carpal tunnel. I believe i figured out at one time <before solo mobs went up to a jillion hp> that i did 60 clicks per kill :) Melody is d'bestest.. then again i'm still dumb so maybe it did dumb us down a bit hehee If you come back barding is the place to be. Hope to see you back in game sometime. Derdarr Deadagin

Definitely coming back - downloading now, so it will probably be tomorrow before I am on.

Derdarr - I'm going to take you up on your offer of assistance. I'm going to need some bardly tutoring to get me back up to speed.

See you guys in there.

Fenwig, I deguild alts after people leave for a year or two. But I pretty much never deguild mains or at least ones I know are mains like you. We likely have some gear in the bank you can have. A bunch is likely required level 70 or higher though.

If you have the latest expansion it opens all the expansions released since you left.

Haha, so jealous that you guys are getting Fen back again! I actually talked to Lachaise for a few minutes last night online - we've both moved on from our old jobs so don't work together anymore and he's in an uber-raiding guild in eq2 and I'm a soloing, questing slow poke so don't hunt together much either, but we do chat.

Fenwig, did you see the hitpoints on these guys now? I guess I would have to stop being too lazy to figure out what augments were which and just wearing whatever +6 Fire Resist ones I happened to equip in LDoN :p

I am sooooo lost - both about the new 'rules' and the maps.

Today, I wasted the afternoon trying to find a place to kite with Trubel. So I headed over to the Great Divide, thought I could find some Giants. Started wandering around...found a cute little toy castle - so, what would any right-minded person do 3 days into their triumphant return? I clicked on it. Of course, I ended up in the Plane of Mischief. I commenced to train the entire zone through the woods clicking on trees until I found the magic one (I had loc...but still). That threw me into Cobalt Scar. I wandered around there unable to figure out how to use the dragon gate. Headed up the tower that I remembered at the 'point'. Clicked on a pillar, which then put me into Skyshrine. I wandered the halls of skyshrine, opening doors, getting aggro...and well, eventually died there.

What fun.

Oh yeah. Jhereg told me you can camp out and click "Return Home." Neat trick.

Oh well - incompetence is bliss, so I'll give it another shot tonight!..

For giggles I did the 10 day free trial. I was bored before I made it to level 3.. It's just not EQ... Then again.. I didnt check to see if there was a CN branch in WoW...

But gotta say.. WoW Machinima is the best! Oxhorn has the best stuff.. then Nyhm is a close second... :teeth:
