A few have been discussing it. It sounds interesting and still in the shaping for those who want to read up and post thoughts, you'll get feedback there.

Which thread are you referring to? This link just takes me to the front page of the forums.

It's an entire forum section there, not just one thread. Five pages worth of threads so far.

can you explain a bit more about what this is? I am assuming a new server that will use a timed progression deal and start from original EQ?

So what exactly are we discussing? Playing on that server? My home in EQ is this guild, not the server or whatever. Definately not the game itself, if EQ weren't an interactive game I wouldn't bother logging in ever again, starting on a new server is the same thing to me. Zero interest. If I want to do everything all over again I'll make anohter alt.

I do kind of like the idea of unlocking expansions but unless you happened to go that new server immediately, join or make the best guild there, and be hardcore, it won't be any different than how we already play. There's still a ton of new stuff I haven't seen yet, why do I want to go back and follow in someone else's footsteps again just to be back where I am now?

I am not sure - I have enough alts here on Vaz already. But I really loved the early content - it was when I 'discovered' EQ. SO the wonder and the excitment scew my thinking a bit. I started when Velious came out and it is my favourite expansion still - but is that because I was working hard to get Jaff ready for that zone? - trying to decide giant or dragon?

In the end I think that, for me, this will be the same as WoW was for me, it will be a great thing to try but I will miss my friends and come back :)
