Final Fantasy 14

Postby Goofydoofy » Wed Sep 25, 2013 7:59 am

Just got it. Haven't installed it. Will probably be several months before I get around to it. A bunch of games ahead of it to try. Any good?

I'd be curious as well. The last FF that I truly enjoyed was FFX.

I'm playing this right now. If you enjoy Final Fantasy games, you'll like this, most likely. If you played FFXI in particular, you'll probably like XIV.

Like all games, especially MMOs, it's all subjective. It looks like endgame is pretty shallow right now (just hardmode versions of Ifrit, Garuda and Titan I think), so I'm in no particular rush to get there.

Hmmm, maybe I'll pick it up then, although I still think FFX was one of the best games I've ever played. The story, the music, the game-play were all great. And I think that it's the only game that ever made me cry.

The standard edition is only $30 with your standard first 30 days free, then a subscription after. You might want to watch some gameplay videos (make sure it's of A Realm Reborn, the re-launch of the game).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=39j5v8jlndM - The cinematic used when the original 14 was shut down (it was a pretty bad game) for redesign and relaunch. It also partially serves as the opening cinematic and background for the relaunched game.

Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster coming out next year, would include the version that had extras like for X had the Dark Aeon fights and such. Edit: Forgot to add its for the Playstation 3.
