All EverQuest Live Servers will be down on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 5:00 am US Pacific* for a Game Update. The servers are estimated to be unavailable for approximately 3 hours. Keep an eye on the EQ Players website and the forums for status updates and for news if additional downtime is needed.
So... new instances won't load. Doesnt that seem like an obvious thing to test before a release? What are the standards for running a QA team at SOE? - End Xald
This "probably" doesn't have anything to do with the patch that occurred Wednesday morning since instances were loading just fine up until about 7:30 PM Eastern. What is more likely is SOE stopped the creation of new instances in preparation for the aborted patch and never turned that capability back on. - End gcube
Correct. They were working fine in the morning.
It is actually caused by the aborted patch, and by the time we can get it fixed... it will be time for the real patch. So, unfortunately, instances will not spin up until after the patch :/
