Returning player

Postby Micholi » Fri May 16, 2008 7:31 pm

Hello old friends and faces of new...

Kiezer Soze saying hello. What is our current take on returning old school guildies? I was always on good terms, contributed and raided as much as I could, and would LOVE to play again. Quite honestly, I would not want to be in any other guild, it wouldn't feel the same.

I am having my computer worked on as we speak so that I may again play the game I love. After spending $3K+ on a sweet new computer it turns out my hardware doesn't like EQ's graphics engine or something, so I've not been able to play for well over a year now, maybe 2.

Either way, a new motherboard and processor is in the budget, so I will be playing EVERQUEST soon, woot!

The error message I get from the EQ patcher is still as follows:..."File size does not match, Local xxxx vs. server xxxx, possible midpush." Anyone know what this means?

Kiezer Soze , 70 Necro, 200 AA's, Lots'O flags and gear and all that good stuff
Ritchot Headhunter, 70 Warrior, 150+ AA's, epiced, lots of Flag and all that good stuff.

Code: Select all

ID          Name                                               IsGuilded LastRaid
----------- -------------------------------------------------- --------- -----------------------
9           Kiezer                                             -1        07/02/2007
No rows affected.
(1 row(s) returned)

So, unless you snuck on and removed yourself in the past 24 hours, you're still on the roster. So I guess the current requirements are "log in".

The error you're getting is definitely a patcher issue and likely nothing do to with the graphics engine. What Operating System, and from what media did you install EQ? (Fixing it may be as easy as downloading a new patcher.)

It's just a -little- bit of SQL. Hardly counts. And it was easier than scrolling through the table.

Oh, Kiezer, still in the painting gig?

Bleh,
I don't do much coding at work anyway,
just keep them tuned, backed up, tweaked, replicating, .....

I'm still guilded? Woot!

I am using XP. I purchased EQ Titanium hoping that would solve the problem, but it didn't. I also tried downloading the most current patcher from SoE to no avial. I purchased new ram a while ago, and that did fix the problem, temporarily, which leads me to believe it is my motherboard or processor. It's not just EQ, it's other games aswell such as F.E.A.R and Battle Field 2 and a bunch of other games. The patches and downloads comes in corrupted for some reason.

Hi Jaffod :D

I never really played or liked GW overall, it was ok, for a week or 2, but beyond that it's not very entertaining long term.

Anyhow, I tried one last time to "fix" my computer, to no avail. Gonna pick up a new processor/mobo tomorrow after work. Hopefully that will fix my problem.

Chat laters....

Simply amazing, I recently upgraded to this same proc. I'm thinking EQ doesn't support > 2 cores, but I do a fair amount of app switching, so it helps there.

Woot! Hi Silly, I miss you! Be sure to pinch Jhereg for me.

I sure as heck hope this processor works with EQ, I will go grey and bald if not! I have it lucky, the store I buy from re-assured me I could exchange for a different set up if EQ doesn't like my hardware.

It turns out I need new ram aswell...fortunately, ram is cheap these days...2 gigs for 90 bucks...wowser!
