Lord of the Rings Online - Open Beta (free)

Postby Twoofus » Tue Apr 03, 2007 12:06 am

I'm assuming more people will try out the open beta for Lord of the Rings online, so I thought I'd post some info, and hopefully we can meet up in game to try it out. Since I'm dutch and it's free, I sure have to :)

Creat an account at GameSpot (free)
Here: http://www.gamespot.com/betas/lord-of-t ... /index.php

Note the part that says "Your key is ####", copy the #### part and go to the activation page.
Here: https://myaccount.turbine.com/?http://w ... gn=Turbine

Enter the key, and create a new account.
Download the client

See you all friday :)

EDIT: The preferred server is Meneldor.

Ya I bought the pre-order to test it out. It's guaranteed open beta plus 2 in game items, plus it's only 9.99/mo after or 200$ lifetime account if you pre-order once they start charging.

It's an alright game....I dunno, we'll see where they take it. They've definitely kept the story line alive and coming from a book series like LOTR it has huge depth to it.

I only have room for one game I pay per month for and at this time EQ is that, this might change at some point soon who knows :)

I added Meneldor as prefered server to the original post, so that we got a spot to meet :)

By sheer chance I ran into Twoofus and Terranya in the Elf newbie area and we managed to plow through a few quests together. So far I like what I see. My Elf Minstrel (healer) is named Ingthalion, please don't ask me how to pronounce it.

my dwarf (tank forget what they're called) is named Drokhmar. Added TnT to friends list already. will be on later tonight. so far it's not too bad, no EQ and a little too WoWy for my taste but I'll see how the next couple weeks go. still might buy it.
