I'll never understand a fear of airplanes. It seems so common yet, logically, people have a far greater chance of death by setting foot in their own automobile.

A very common used type of logic Silly, but it has some flaws in my mind.

Regardless of any previous numbers & statistics...

I would bet 75% of this guild can say they have either:

A) Know someone who's been killed (or critically injured, sometimes I don't know which is worse) by a car wreck (I know one)
B) Know someone who'd killed (or critically injured) someone else in a car wreck (I know several)

Maybe 1% of the guild can say they either:

A) Know a pilot who has killed people in a plane crash
B) Know someone who died as the result of a plane crash

Also by "know someone" I'm meaning friend or family member or at least acquaintance. Not , "OMG that dude who was on that flight on 9/11 is my Dentist's Cableman's Uncle's Grocer!"

Getting into a car is like bracing myself for the worst. Airplanes? Well, those are just fun :)

Well, I'll renew my objection to this being the right venue for this. The last page just confirmed that for me and I won't be back here again.

And thus concludes our yearly political debate.
