Eeek! Help! my computer is messed up!

Postby Baelea » Wed Feb 01, 2006 8:28 am

I put those little silver tab things back in, the things where you take out to put in other cards, video cards etc. I have 4 open slots so put them back in to keep the dust out.
Now that I restart my computer. i have lost my RED color. Everytrhing is either a green or a light blue. It is hard on my eyes. It is definatly NOT the way it should be. I restarted, checked the connections etc.. What did I do? Hellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllp!!!!!! ( windows xp)

Well, odds are the monitor isn't completely plugged in, or one of the pins on the connector to it are bent (or one of the connections in the monitor cable was damaged). Disconnect the monitor cable from the back of the PC, and take a look inside the connector on the cable.

On his computer,. it is a complete black screen.
Sigh.. I got this monitor in octboer! A 19inch flat. I am so upset.. I just dont know what to do now.. sigh..

LOL the monitor I have at home is an old used one from work. The one I have at work now is so crappy that it randomly turns off on me for no reason. I've found though that if I smack it just in the right spot on the right side, it clicks back on no problemo!

I's kind of like the "cool kid vending machine trick" ...kick it & the soda comes out, you know?

I'm just waiting for one of these days when my boss walks by and watches me "turn on my computer" by backhanding the side of it...

1) Acquire a roll of Duct tape.
2) Ballpene hammer
3) Put on Backstreet Boys CD
4) Call 1-800-MCGYVER

I hope this helps!
