Check it out guys. I think that EQ is gonna put Magelo out of a job...

List pretty much anyone and everyone in EQ. Leaderboards are still populating at this time.

So far i like what i see. I already switched my sig over to link to it.. i really like not having to update anything.. hehe

Wow... bye bye privacy of any kind. You can look up any character in the game to see what they're wearing, who they worship, even how far into their level they are. Total Time Played is also on there!!!

I don't like it.

Hehe, well I found an alt that I lost long long ago. Rugola, the ogre shamaness on the Zek server.

It's not up to date though. It shows me wearing an item that I updated/replaced with a Quarm drop a couple weeks ago.
Hmmmm ....

You can hide characters partially/entirely, you need to go to Character/Admin to do it I think, or through Edit Preferences.

I like it. And yes, Magelo is gone gone IMO. I really like the updating but they have some work to do. Several of the items are auged wrong and a couple slots only have augs in them. With the number of characters to update it will take time to compile.

If your stuff is out of date, they put in a new command, /eqplayersupdate. The command will update the site information on your character to be accurate. You can also just wait a bit and it will update on its own, but with all the bugs in it atm, I'd recommend using the command if you want your information up to date.

And as Jhereg pointed out, you can log yourself in and make your profile hidden from everyone, visible to only guildies, or visible to everyone.

oooooooo.... Lots a nice stuff to pull into the roster :)

They will start asking money for it I bet, that's what they did for EQ2 as well...

They announced, even before release, that it would be a paid service. Everybody is getting 14 days free.

You can control the details of what your character displays at a fairly fine level. You can control everything from AA to ZeBank, with seperate entries for both guild and the public. It should be noted, though, that all characters are opted in, not out, and it includes characters that no longer have an active account.

Somewhat flakey yet - which is no big surprise - but I like it!

What I find scary is that people that left the game 4 years ago, still show up.
Combine that with the total nr of around 250.000 players, and lets assume everyone has at least 3 characters on their account, which would give us an indication of somewhere between 50.000 and 100.000 active accounts.

That's a LOT less then I expected...

Where do you get the 250K for the number of characters?

Aye, pretty sure I actually saw reference to 4 MILLION characters...

What I'm kinda disappointed about is the site crashes IE on my NT system at work.. but Netscape works just fine. I find that very odd, must be something to do with the Macromedia Player I have installed in IE as it's old and unable to be upgraded due to the NT OS.

And there's at least 380k chars, some of the people with 0 hps (bug on the site) are ranked around there.

Rin

Edit: Just checked again, Kayrian (who it says has 0 hps), is ranked at 65.8k on Maelin, and 2.5 millionth worldwide, so there's at least 2.5 million characters. I wonder how bad lag would be if we all decided to go to PoK one day =D

I cant seem to load the damn site or its taking forever. I am not impressed if I have to spend 30 minutes loading the site on a DSL connection.

The site's slow due to server load.

I think an officer-GL type has to go in and set guild options (such as the guild website *winkwink*)

Looking into it further, I really rather like it, and will probably subscribe to it when I get to playing again, despite my Magelo Premium and the guild roster. I like playing with numbers.

I tried setting the guild web site, the permissions aren't setup right. I suspect it will take them days of heavy load before they get bugs fixed. And some minor bugs will definitely extend into january. If EQ2's one doesn't work perfectly after a year, anyone expecting this to work perfect in the short term is going to be badly disappointed.

Also, the hp/mana and stuff is calculated seperately it seems. Not many on the server are past that stage so the leaderboards don't work well yet if at all. I'm assuming that while equipment was pulled in almost immeditately, the calculations are done in between downloads from servers and it only processes a certain number before the next pull of data from the server. How many hours/days to get through the backlog will be interesting.

I have a vague recollection of a message being posted to the effect that guild management isn't even available yet, but is, instead, scheduled for a later update.

Now, seems to me that they already have the guild web address on the live servers (as part of the guild tool there), and changing it there should change it on the web. I mean, if they can get current tribute points, surely it isn't a stretch to copy the URL as well.

But that's just me.

There is a website link to view all this stuff? I found descriptions and ways to subscribe, but haven't found anything showning the actual thing in action. Or is this all in game stuff?

It overwrites the old EQlive site, basically directing the old links to the new one.

Site seems to be up and running perfectly from what I've used of it. And, I like it!

Anyone notice that Magelo and EQPlayers don't match? Not sure why, but with all gear the same, my stats are quite a bit different.

who are the ones with lives

LOL Clearly not I. Well I squished enough in between 21 - 25 to where I needed to chill out a bit anyway ;)

Now instead of an addiction to things like jagermeiseter & red bull, in a club, doing some scantly clad booty shaking....I have an addiction to my double-exp button
