I am on a "forced" hiatus but quite frankly I will not be spending anymore money on the game until I see how stuff falls out. Good news...I'm paid up through August which means Littlabit can kill me for two months after I get back

The bad news if Everquest shuts down for me is, I'll miss a lot of the people I've played with over the years (Yes, this is the real Goofy typing) and I will miss the game itself. I will be upset that 13+ years of accomplishment will disappear like that. The good news is, I'm well established in Guild Wars 2 and Star Wars: The Old Republic and have about 20 other games I've always wanted to explore and spend time in but never had the time to play enough. I will get that chance to do that. I prefer Everquest not disappearing, but I won't commit suicide over it. I'll adept.

Yeah I would miss the interaction and my friends more then the game. Well and of course dying with you guys 3 nights a week! My house might actually be clean for once and the laundry caught up... oh good lord what is the world coming to!

I have a Rift account, and a WOW and a star wars, and a diablo , and guild wars, and something else ! I pretty much every game out there . just for info, we have a CN wow guild and I'm GL over there

Currently Playing Rift also. They've made some nice changes that allow you to play with any level friend, no matter what level you are. You can either scale up to them, or they can come down to your level and you can quest / dungeon run / pvp with them.

I've only soloed in Rift. Like in all the games I play, I usually don't group. Everquest is the only game I've ever played with others and that is only because somebody back in the day when I was level 50 or so bugged me until I joined Tribal Fury. It was just downhill for them since then.

Here's a list of the people that were laid off. The majority of those affiliated with EQ actually were part of the EQ2 team, which has me thinking that if any game is going to be shut down it would be EQ2 and not EQ. https://www.reddit.com/r/EQNext/comment ... e_layoffs/

So sad, I met Ngreth.. he was the tradeskill promoter.

I will move somewhere if EQ shuts down.. doubt it will be WOW, guilds there did not have the get to know you thing we do here on EQ.

There's only 8 rift servers left, However they have implemented Intra-game shard switching (servers). Soo you can basically go on any server and play with anyone else on a diff server. I do not know if guilds are cross server though. Im currently playing on Faeblight server.

I have a Rift account I just found. I might start playing again this week for giggles. I both love and hate being able to switch classes model. On one hand it's nice to switch to healers when it's needed, but on the other I like being able to stay static for an identity like in EQ. Patches change the game so much that builds become outed, so you always have to find the latest post to stay up to date on what's the FOTM build(s).
