Sarabean 85 Cleric

Postby Sarabean » Thu Feb 12, 2009 6:46 am

Your Main Character

-Name: Sarabean
-Class: Cleric
-Race: Human
-Level: 85
-Number of AAs: 1616
-Magelo Number (if you have one): http://eq.magelo.com/profile/1407271
-List which keys and flags you have:

MMM Raid and others

-List your alts on this server (name, level, class):

Meanbean a level 52 Warrior without a guild

A Little Bit About Yourself

-What are a few things you enjoy most about playing EQ? (For example: raiding, grouping, soloing, tradeskilling, exploring, questing, etc)

I do not like playing alone, grouping is great and raiding is a lot of fun for me.

-Tell us some of your short and long term goals for your character. (For example: quests, epic, tradeskills, leveling, AA ability, etc)

In the short run I have been working on getting Augs and upgrading my armor, also I have been playing without a guild so I could learn from others on how to play better.
Long Term; well I would like to make the leader board someday and it is very important to me to me be a player that people want to group with. So in the long run…. Become the best player I can be and be kind and understanding to all that I play with.

-When do you normally play EQ? What is your time zone?

I like to play 4 to 5 nights a week if work allows.
My play time are from about 7:00 pm to 10:00 EST, I play latter on weekend and when Raiding I like to stay till the end of the raid.

-CN generally raids Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 8 pm Eastern Time. Raiding is not required, but we would like to know what % of raids you think you will attend.

I would like to attend all raids, but it is fair to say that an 80% is a realistic goal.

-Please tell us which other guilds you have been a member of and why you chose to leave.

1st Guild Goddesses Legion I was not welcome due to letting someone else play my toon and being anonymous in guild (I did not know how to turn it off at the time) I never got booted but left on my own due to lack of friendly feeling going on in the guild.
2nd Guild Horseman of Norrath This was a great guild, I grew and enjoyed playing with everyone in this guild, and I moved on to start Raiding.
3rd Guild Crusaders of Discord This guild was going to be a Raiding guild, it was not.
4th Guild Appotus Dominus Now this was a Raiding guild, I was under geared, under level, under AA’s and not much Raiding experience. To date AD has been the best guild I have played in, the people are wonderful and have treated me kindly, AD took the time to teach me better ways to play and encouraged me to overcome my shortcomings. I left AD on my own to work on a way to overcome my issues with reading multiple windows. I am a bad dyslexic. AD would welcome me back, but I feel that maybe it is a little too much play time for me; it is truly a 7 day a week guild with Raiding 6 nights a week, and one night to work on flagging.

-If you are still a member in another guild, please explain:

I have been unguided for a few months

Your Experience with CN

-Which members of CN do you know? Have you had a chance to raid or group with us?

I have never Raided with CN, I have group with many of the wonderful players in CN

-Why are you applying to CN? Is there a specific reason you chose to apply to our guild?

Littlabit told me a bit about the guild and it sounded like it would be a nice fit to my goals and playtime. It also sounded like CN could use another Cleric and that made me feel like I might be needed and wanted in the guild :D as I looked at the list of Clerics I see that I will be able to learn from all of them and this is also important to me.

-Tell us what your goals are for applying. What do you hope to get out of the guild?

Friendship, fun and quality playtime!

-Have you read the CN Rules and Policies and understand them?

Yes

Optional Info

-What do you do in real life?

I am a Design Engineer in the banking and security industry.

-Where are you from?

I live in SW Florida

-Would you consider traveling to attend annual CN gatherings at various places in North America?

Yes it would be fun to meet the people I spend so much time with.

-What is your favourite colour? (with Canadian spelling)
Jaune (Yellow)

Hello all,
I feel like I made a mistake in applying for membership in Celestial Navigators. I am not comfortable in the fact that I cannot get to know the guild before joining. I like to see what type of tunes are on and at what times. During the application period it is a good time to learn if the possibilities of building groups are there. I have only been able to get one group with one person in it, I was hoping for more group response but understand that most players have Mercenaries that they are comfortable playing with.
It just hit me wrong standing outside of the guild hall during buffing and not getting a port form a guild member to an area close to the raid. A puppet guild for a portal was not the answer I was looking for.
So with that said, I am respectfully pulling my application for membership.
Thank you all for your considerations.

Only about 1/2 the guild is in the channel at any one time and often its quiet when people are distracted. And yeah, I'm afraid we don't give guild tags ahead of time. That's saved us a few times from serious mistakes but I know it can be different than what people expect.

As for tonight. The only wizard in raid was the raid leader and he was extremely busy. Normally I'd be on on a saturday to relieve it, but I was having coughing problems with this cold.

Anyway, good luck to you.

It is ironic you say this, our application period is two to three weeks just so you CAN get to know us, and we you. And making this judgement call within only 48 hours of applying here, I really am kind of baffled.

Sock puppets (a guild for just a few alternate toons) was offered as a guild out of kindness by one of our members, it is not an applicant guild, and it was only offered to you as a matter of convenience. You were not obligated in any way whatsoever to join.

As for not offering you a ride to the raid, I DID offer to send someone to specifically escort you to the raid which you refused. I offered a second time with a reinvite to the raid, which you also refused. Apparently you only wanted help in your own specific way and not in either of the ways we offered it in the whole brief start of the one raid since your application, which is fine, but it seems kind of petty.

Best of luck in whatever exactly it is you're looking for,
Silly

EDIT: By the way, I'm crankier than normal today. 14 hours work, 4 hours of sleep, and hunger to boot makes for a less-friendly-silly.

You are right! I did reject the kind offer that was made, I am so very sorry, it was rude of me and in truth I did not understand what a nice offer it was. I was in a bad mood from the start; I do not know what is wrong with me. It was kind of petty.
I just want a nice guild with a chance to play in groups. So many of the guilds I have looked at or been in are very hard to get into groups do to the pre-set friendships and lack of players.

Silly I am sorry that I did not make your cranky day go better with some laughs.

I told you CN was super duper the bestest... did you not believe me?? /gasp. :P You could not ask for a better place to have a online family. We have our ups and downs just like RL families and we even have those crazy uncles (goofy) and those funny aunts (merizel) For real though, sure we wipe, sure we have our moments where there is stress and we want to just log cuz you had enought. But, you will find that in any guild. Here you will see people who will go out of their way if you are truly in trouble and need help, (ask obsessed on that one) ANY guild is what you make it. I would think any one would LOVE to have CN as their home. Just my 2 cents thou.

BTW Im the cookie / pie lady in this family.

Good luck to you and I hope you find a guild better suited to your expectations. Thank you for acting quickly to pull your app when you ascertained this was not the home for which you were looking. Better to do so now if things are already hitting you the wrong way.

Enjoy the game :!:

Usually just one week of the month but I blame that on being a woman!!!!

Anyway Sarabean, Sarinee has brought up a very good point and I'm sorry about my less than impressive response to your post. Plus I was sad because Bit had said some very nice things about you so I was excited to see you apply and it irked me that I didn't get a chance to know you myself before you withdrew. Now look at the pot calling the kettle black!!!!

Enjoying the game is what it is about after all, and only you know what is best for you! I do hope you find what you want :)

Hello all CNers, I am now ready to join the best guild on Maelin if you will still have me as a member. After my app in Feb I joined a guild called "Bad Girls of Maelin" this guild belongs to Miana and she was kind enough to offer me housing in her guild. I was the main active toon in the guild and have not done much grouping or any raiding for about one year now. I do feel that my skills as a cleric are still fairly good. I am sure that my stats have fallen behind some. I have been able to earn some more AA's over the time so I can update that and say I now have 1698 AA's. You may look at my Magelo to see my full stats.

I would like to tell you why I pulled my app last time, well I feel I need to say something about it....so...ah...welll...ok...it was just a bad week and...ah...well...I just reacted in a bad way to a simple thing do to my mood at the time. I have never been that moody, but things in life where coming at me too fast and I was kinda feeling down about some things that where going on in my life so I just reacted in a way that made it hard for me to say "I am a fool at times" so to everyone I am sorry.

In most municipalities it remains legal to beat your wife, so long as you do it on the steps of the courthouse and with a rod no thicker than your thumb. Incidentally, this is the origin of the colloqialism "rule of thumb".

On a more serious note, welcome Sarabean. Glad you finally came to your senses. CN really is the best place in EQ. :D

I only heard about the rule of thumb being a spousal abuse issue when I came to the US, prior to that I assumed it was a measurement issue
