Sharrien, lvl 80 Beast

Postby Sharrien » Thu Jul 31, 2008 5:44 am

Your Main Character

-Name: Sharrien Dreamstalker, Master Artisan
-Class: Beastlord
-Race: Kittykat
-Level: 80
-Number of AAs: about 1260 at last count
-Magelo Number: 567946 (not a paid subscriber, but kept reasonably accurate)
-List which keys and flags you have: Enraged Flesh Charm (need Dev named kill yet before I could start a Sullon raid), MMM, Crystallos, ally to WGL (Fergarin group tasks done), a myriad of other flags and keys from VT through Anguish that are no longer especially relevant.

-List your alts on this server (name, level, class): Ravingronn Blazewarden (588284), 80 human mage, Master Researcher

A Little Bit About Yourself

-What are a few things you enjoy most about playing EQ? I enjoy many aspects of the game. Raiding is fun, especially seeing everyone working together on a tough fight and beating an encounter on the edge of the raid’s abilities. I've lead raids, which is very rewarding when they work out, but head-splitting agony sometimes when nothing seems to go right, lol. Most of my time outside of raids is spent questing. I’ve completed many long-term quests in the past that most people dread like BiC and Aid Grimel. Right now I’m working on two of the SoF aug quests (recently finished the Camp Valor aug) and Eron’s Jewelry. I also do a fair amount of tradeskilling, enough so that I have made myself a comfortable in-game living. I have 300 in all the main tradeskills, so if anyone needs a combine done just let me know (except exalted or sublime, still not done with those darn quests).

-Tell us some of your short and long term goals for your character. Short term, finish those aug quests and Eron’s. Finish up ally on a couple SoF factions for spells (hurray for new quests!). Long term, I want to experience as much of the game as I can, crawling through dungeons and taking down raid targets without skipping much of anything.

-When do you normally play EQ? What is your time zone? CST (St. Louis, MO). I play about two nights a week, generally Wednesdays and Saturdays. Our daughter is nearing her first birthday, she occupies most of the rest of my time at home. I also try to squeeze in 30 minutes in the mornings before work for tradeskilling, minor tasks and such.

-CN generally raids Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 8 pm Eastern Time. Raiding is not required, but we would like to know what % of raids you think you will attend. Probably 2/3 of those times.

-Please tell us which other guilds you have been a member of and why you chose to leave. I take a lot of pride that I have been a member and eventually served as an officer in some of the finest guilds on our server. Bastions of Honor was my first guild, merged with NK. Norrathian Knights, couldn’t get over the hump of moving from purely grouping to raiding. Fantasy Awakened, been a member for over four years of the seven that I have played EQ. You’ve heard FA’s story a lot recently I’m sure. We were one of the strongest family style guilds anywhere in our time, but I finally had to make the very tough decision to leave because we no longer had a viable raiding force.

-If you are still a member in another guild, please explain:

Your Experience with CN

-Which members of CN do you know? Have you had a chance to raid or group with us? Many of your recently joined members know me well from FA as do a few of the older ones like Bobbert and the man behind Hordun’s Horde of toons. Here and there other names ring a bell, I probably grouped with them over the years.

-Why are you applying to CN? Is there a specific reason you chose to apply to our guild? CN’s philosophy and style most closely matches my own. You are also just a little bit ahead of FA’s high water mark, so I wouldn’t be missing out on too much by joining up.

-Tell us what your goals are for applying. What do you hope to get out of the guild? I like raiding, but not on a hard core schedule. I want to be part of a team that works well together and willing to try hard fights even if we sometimes end up as mob droppings. As a long-time former officer, I know how hard a job it can be researching, setting up and leading raids, so you can count on there being no drama, hissy fits, temper tantrums or other problems from me. I look forward to following and being able to concentrate mostly on playing my own character and sometimes making people laugh. Proper comedic timing ain’t easy when you have to stare at the keyboard to type everything…

-Have you read the CN Rules and Policies and understand them? Yep. I’ve never been in a DKP guild before, but I don’t anticipate any problems adapting.

Optional Info

-What do you do in real life? Cost Analyst (yawn) Also a Navy Reservist one weekend a month.

-Where are you from? St. Louis, MO

-Would you consider traveling to attend annual CN gatherings at various places in North America? Sure, depends on where it is.

-What is your favourite colour? (with Canadian spelling) Purple and teal, I believe I might be the only toon anywhere who actually makes that combo on my armor work!

Nice application Sharrien. Questions in bold, complete sentences, good spelling...there are quicker ways to my heart, but they usually involve some combination of bourbon, scat porn, and a llama (or two).

See you in game.

Hello again, Sharrien. Great to see your app. We could use another qualified Beastlord. :D

I am not currently playing as much as I used to as the summer this year has left little time to fit in EQ. Hopefully as activites end I might see you around.

Good luck with the app.

Thanks for having me along for the Sothgar win, it was fun. Also, many thanks to Finamdar and friends for the CoH in Bloodmoon. It was a close run since repops were showing up and I was pet tanking without a healer, but I managed to fight the rest of the way down into the safe tunnel. I even managed to figure out how to single pull spiders with some fancy footwork (but no Eron's drops yet darnit).

I probably won't be on line for the raid Sat evening. Our daughter is having her first birthday party in the afternoon and even if all the partygoers have gone, I'm sure I'll be on clean up duty.

Worked some faction last night since the raid-ins were full. I got Pezripsid #1 and #2 done on both of my toons. Next I'll poke my head inside AG and see how my duo fares trying the tasks in there.
